 The School of Social Work at the University of Georgia is pleased to present RecoveryAthens.org, an initiative of social work students offering information and support to individuals with addictions in the UGA and Athens communities. It is with delight that I commend social work students for their commitment to this important community outreach effort.
The information provided here by social work students is an effort to serve our community as part of the National Alcohol & Drug Addiction Recovery Month.
The profession of social work focuses on individual, family, and societal well-being. Individuals, families, and society benefit when treatment for alcohol and drug addictions is successful. We support the message that recovery from alcohol and drug addictions in all their forms is possible, and we applaud treatment providers in our area and those who seek their services.
